Quoting and booking, including on-site inspections

On-site inspection before a removalist quote in Sydney

Most moves do not need a visit before we quote. You send both addresses, the date, the size of the home and the access on the estimate form. We come back with hours at $170/hr incl. GST. You confirm. You are booked. No deposit.

Some houses do need eyes on them. A steep Coast drive, a piano on a top floor, a wall unit built in the room, or a place you have not finished packing — that is when we offer an on-site inspection. It is so the quote matches the day, not a sales visit.

How a quote usually starts

  1. You call, WhatsApp, or send the form. Phone and WhatsApp are fine if you would rather talk it through.
  2. We need pickup, delivery, date, stairs or a lift, parking, and anything heavy.
  3. Photos of tight stairs, the driveway and the big pieces help. Send them with the form or on WhatsApp.
  4. We reply with a range of hours and what is included. Same day when we can.
  5. You say yes. The date is held. There is no deposit and no cancellation fee — tell us as early as you can if the date moves.

Book a month ahead and $50 comes off the final price. Travel between the two properties, wrapping, furniture assembly and insurance sit inside $170/hr. The shorter version of this is how the quote process works.

When we do an on-site inspection

Ask for one, or we will suggest it, if any of these are true.

  • A 4 bedroom or larger, or a house that has been lived in a long time and the volume is hard to guess from a list.
  • Awkward access: no lift, a long carry, a steep or narrow drive, or a truck that cannot get near the door.
  • Pianos, marble, pool tables, gym gear, safes or a fish tank.
  • You want us to see the furniture removal before you commit — one room or the whole house.
  • A small commercial job where the loading dock and the hours matter.

On site we walk both ends if we can, or the end that is the problem. We look at parking for a 28 m³ truck, stairs, door widths, and what actually has to come apart. You get the hours after that walk, not a number invented in the driveway. If both properties are far apart we inspect the harder one and take photos or your notes for the other.

What booking actually means

  • You confirm the estimate by phone, text or email. That is the booking.
  • We lock the crew and the truck for that date. Your goods are the only job on it.
  • A week out, if access changes — new lift rules, settlement slipping, extra furniture — tell us. The hours can move. The rate does not.
  • The night before, leave a park as close to the door as you can and have the path clear. How to prepare.
  • On the day we arrive at the booked time. If we are running differently we call. You should too.

After the move

We bill the hours we worked, in 30-minute increments after the three-hour minimum. If the job ran long because of packing or access we did not know about, that is the clock, and we say so on the day rather than as a surprise line. Cash, bank transfer or card. No deposit was taken, so you are paying for the work that happened.

Call 0467 017 141 or send the estimate. If you already know the house needs a walk-through, say so on the form and we will set the inspection before we lock the quote.

Common questions

Do I need an on-site inspection for a removalist quote?

Not usually. Most Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle moves are quoted from the form, photos and a phone call. We inspect when the house is large, access is awkward, or there is a piano or other heavy piece.

How do I book once I have the quote?

You confirm by phone, text or email. There is no deposit. The crew and truck are held for that date.

Is an on-site inspection a sales visit?

No. We look at parking, stairs, door widths and what has to come apart, then send the hours. The quote comes after the walk, not a number made up in the driveway.
